England - The first two days

As I thought, Nicolas was an angel on the flight. We were delayed nearly 2 hours so he had a little nap in the airport and then after we took off he went to sleep. Luckily the pressure didn't seem to affect his ears. He slept until about an hour before we landed, mostly on my knee, but Adam watched movies all flight, so he held him too so I could sleep for an hour or so.
Nicolas liked looking out of the window and only got upset after we had to sit on the tarmac at Manchester for over an hour waiting for a gate.
Dad met us at the airport, and because we were late, he had to race home and get his sheep in from the fields ready to be sprayed with stuff to keep the flies off them. We walked down with Nicole to watch, but we had to stay away from little Will as he had chicken pox and we were scared Nicolas might get them.
On Sunday we went to Chatsworth country fair. They have all kinds of craft stalls, shooting, archery, horse events and army bands and it attracts all kinds of people, so it was fun for Adam to see a whole cross section of English people. I will never again generalize about Americans being overweight because there are just so many fat English people!!

Nicolas slept for most of the day as he wasn't used to the time difference yet and when he woke up the rain had started. Because we are all so used to the rain, everyone just carried on as if it was sunny, but Adam hated it! As he said, if it was America, everyone would have gone home by now! We had a go a archery (with beers in our hands!) and Adam watched some fishing displays and then we went home. I think it gave Adam an insight into British life though and we had a good time inspite of the rain
