Making Christmas Tree Cookies

November and December were so busy that we had hardly any time for crafts and baking. We did get to make christmas tree cookies which were lots of fun.

A Trip to Chuck E Cheese

We went to our neighbor Caroline's birthday at Chuck E Cheese. It is always so loud and crowded that we rarely go. The birthday was fun but Nicolas wasn't sure what to make of the giant rat!!

The kids had fun on all the little kid rides

Adison loves slides so all she wanted to do was slide up and down
Chuck E Cheese himself! The birthday girl Caroline
Nicolas tried riding a mechanical horse which he really enjoyed
We had fun but as usual were exhausted afterwards! Luckily Nicolas and Adison don't realise they could have spent a fortune in tokens to get a 10c toy, we'll keep them in the dark for as long as possible about that!

A Relaxing Sunday

The kids slept until 8am on Sunday so we got a bit of a late sleep and then we opened the presents that Teresa and Mark had got the kids for Christmas. They are so generous and spoil the kids so much. Dana was in charge of handing out all the presents and the kids were really excited as they hadn't been allowed to open presents on Saturday, as there was just too much going on.

Teresa had asked what the kids would like and as Nicolas and Adison are so little I'd asked for a geotrax bridge with the plane track attached for Nicolas, as we've bought him the airport that goes with it. Adison is having a baby doll Christmas and so they got her the cutest little highchair for her babies.

Kirsten got a whole lot of art stuff and Jaden was in heaven as they gave him some computer game he's been wanting for years. They spent the rest of the day playing with their gifts and having a wonderful time.
I'd cooked a big shepherds pie on Saturday so I knew we had lots of food, so Jon, Tori, Aunt Mechelle and Adam's stepsister Melody and her boyfriend all came over for lunch. Whenever Teresa and Mark come to stay it's great to be able to invite people over and make it a big party. I love Adam's step sister and the kids adore her boyfriend Jack because he's a better looking version of their ex-stepdad, who they miss a lot.

Erin stopped by too with Jack and Bowen, so it was a busy, family filled afternoon and it stopped the day having that kind of flat feeling that you get after a big event.

Jack, Melody, Erin
It was the first time Adam's aunt Mechelle had seen the house since we remodelled and it was also the first time she got to spent one on one time with Nicolas. He just loved her!
We all got wonderful presents as well. I felt like the geotrax and highchair were my presents as I'll be the one who plays with them most, but Adam and I got so many other things that we felt very spoilt.
This year has been such a crazy one with us all adjusting to the kids coming to live here, but I feel like 2010 is going to be great. I have my energy back, I feel like the old me again, Adison is old enough to get a babysitter and I want to spend more time with family and friends.
When everyone finally left Teresa and I got to sit down with a glass of wine and just relax and chat. That is my favorite thing because she has such great memories of Adam as a child and I get to imagine what he was like when he was little.
It was a wonderful weekend and now I have a fun and busy week ahead baking for Nicolas' preschool party, a friend's birthday party and getting ready for Mom and Dad coming in on Monday. I'm so glad all my Christmas presents are bought and wrapped so I can focus on the things that matter most about Christmas, making memories with family and friends.

The Reception

I have no photos of the ceremony because me camera wouldn't take a good one with all the lights on the trees behind James and Sarah. Also I was trying to follow the ceremony and keep the kids quiet. I have a couple of videos I'll post later.

Once the ceremony was over it was a great relief to be able to let the kids run about and not worry about them getting dirty or making too much noise.

Adam had some more photos and then I could enjoy being with him and dancing and eating!!

I had really high heels on, which I haven't worn for ages, but my feet held up well and I was so glad to fit in my dress. It made all the effort worth while and Adam thought I looked great, which is what counted.

I love weddings because it always reminds me of how wonderful our wedding was. I can honestly say it was the happiest day of my life and I wouldn't have changed a thing. I never thought I could love Adam anymore than I did that day, but I do. He just gets better and better with age!!
Tori feels the same way about Jon as I do about Adam. If anyone overheard us when we walk together they would probably think we were crazy as we gush about how amazing our husbands are!
Adison gave up all her inhibitions at the reception and was reaching for Ben to hold her. Only a week ago he just had to look at her and she'd cry!
As Jon and Ben both have short hair and a beard at the moment I don't think she realized that they were two seperate people!
Sarah looked gorgeous! Her dress was beautiful and as always she looked totally serene and very happy.
I think Nicolas is going to follow in the Woodall tradition and be a 'boob man' as he was very interested in Sarah's clevage! I think he was actually looking at the sequins on her dress, but it does look as if he's looking down her dress.

We all danced and enjoyed ourselves and had a great party.

Teresa was the only person Jaden would dance with. He's at a very self concious age but he really enjoyed it.

By 10pm Nicolas was running on fumes and cake! He was almost in a trance as he ate.

We left the reception about 11:30pm. It was a wonderful wedding and made me realize once again what a great family I've got. I'm very excited about the memories we'll create with Sarah as she officially becomes #1 sister in law!!
