Halloween Fun!
I think Halloween is one of my favorite American holidays. I do miss Bonfire Night, so maybe I just like Halloween so much to make up for it.
Adison was a ladybug but before we put her outfit on she looked just like a burglar all in black! All she needed was the balaclava!
She wasn't very happy to start with, but she soon cheered up. Kirsten was a doctor, Jaden didn't want to dress up but his Mom got him a sword and Adam painted a scar on his face, and Nicolas was either a dragon or a dinosaur. I'm still not sure which his costume is, but it's cute!

This will be the first year we haven't been trick or treating on Halloween night. We went to church for 'trunk or treat' instead. There were about 40 cars and trucks with their trunks open and decorated and the kids went from car to car getting candy.
Considering Adison has only been walking for a month, she managed to carry her bucket with about 2lbs of candy in it for most of the night!
My friend Lisa decorated her trunk as Charlotte's Web and won the prize for best trunk. Adison wasn't sure what to make of the horses.
Nicolas just climbed up and wanted his picture taken.
This was a group photo of some of the kids dressed up. To me the smaller the child the cuter they look dressed up. The little cow was adorable.
I thought this was a cute picture of Nicolas looking up adoringly at Kirsten.
We saw Jaden and Kirsten for maybe 15 minutes out of the whole night because if they had gone round at Adison's pace they would have got hardly any candy. They really enjoy church things now that they are making really good friends through their Sunday school and Wednesday night classes, and some of the kids go to their school too.
Adison had to do a beanbag toss to get some candy and she did very well.

She didn't really know what to make of people giving her candy, she gave them a quizzical look and was very hesitant to take anything.

This photo shows how cute Nicolas' costume is from the back and side with his tail.
After an hour or so everyone was tired. That's the problem with neighborhood trick or treating, you walk miles and then still have to walk home. With Trunk or Treat when we were tired we walked to the truck and drove home with happy tired kids.
