Our Pool Nightmare

Last year we drained the pool at the start of the summer and installed the salt system. After several years of the pool turning orange it was perfect for the whole of last year. We figured that it would be the same this year.......how wrong we were!!
We didn't drain it which meant it was warm (usually it's freezing until the middle of June), but no matter how much stuff we put in it, it was cloudy. No one minded so we still swam as all the levels were right.

Then over the course of a weekend it went bright green!!! Inspite of more salt and lots of chemicals it still wouldn't clear up, but it did get less green.

My angel husband then spent 3 1/2 hours vacuuming all the sand out of the filter so we could replace it, just incase that was the problem.

After new sand and some more chemicals it's finally clear!! I now know why Ben and Erin removed the old pool!! It's a good job we love the pool so much as it's just vacuums up the $$$$!
