Getting ready for Christmas dinner was definately a team event! Mom and I had done as much preparation as possible on Dec 23rd, but on Christmas morning Dad was in charge of looking after Nicolas so Mom and I could do the cooking. Dad and Adam swept and mopped the floor and Mom decorated the table.
Kirsten's favorite present was a pink hat which she kept on all day!!
We had a couple of minutes of panic as everyone arrived when the milk for the bread sauce curdled, but other than that everything went perfectly. We literally cooked all my favorite Christmas dishes and all of Adam's, so it was a huge meal.
Mom had brought crackers from England, so we all had silly hats to wear and we all read the jokes and silly facts that came in the crackers. James entered into the spirit by wearing the chiffon scarf and hat that came in his cracker, much to the kids amusement!
The kids were so well behaved, but Nicolas decided to cry which spoilt my meal a bit, but it was definately my best Christmas ever! Next year with a 2 year old and a 6 month old and no Mom and Dad to help, we will definately have the modified version of Christmas dinner.
